Therefore need to provide it in our diet. • DHA is especially important for the growth, development and function of the brain and eye. • Studies show that consumption of long chain omega-3 fatty acids can have an important beneficial effect over the behaviour and learning capacity of small children. • DHA may also play a role in other conditions such as post natal depression, hyperactivity, attention deficit disorder, and memory loss.
