Creative Writing Journal Topics/Week Fourteen • After suffering from a terrible accident on his grandfather’s farm, an unpopular boy must return to school with a hook for a hand. • “You won’t believe what I just got in the mail.” • “There’s only one way out of this…” • As two teenagers sit on the front porch of a house, a car with tinted windows pulls up. The doors open, and two men in black suits get out and start walking toward them. • Student choice

ECHS Literary Anthology • Types of Selections • 3 page maximum submission for short stories • 1 ½ page maximum submission for poetry • 3 page maximum submission for essays • Any type of school appropriate writing may be submitted • How Many Selections • No one person can submit more than 2 pieces • Approval Process • An English or AVID teacher should have to approve the piece before submission to anthology • Submissions must be “polished” and in final draft format to receive acceptance • An electronic copy of the submission has to be sent through the approving teacher to Mrs. Atkinson • Assignment of Sections • Short Stories-9th grade girls/Jarrett • Poetry-Boys –Jarrett • Essays—10th grade girls

  3. Homework • Blog post Friday by 5:00. • Research one way we can publish student work online. • Report back on what you learn on Friday.
