What should I annotate? • You should point out the most important information in the article. • Including: names, dates, titles, main points, etc.
How do I annotate? • Highlight the main ideas • Circle words that you don’t understand • Underline important names/dates
Highlighting • Highlight the most important information. Next to every line that you highlight, write an explanation to what the highlighted area means.
circling • Circle words that you don’t understand. • Next to the circled word, write the definition.
underlining • Underline important names of people and the dates of important events.
