Transparency And The Government "The level of transparency and communication has increased by an order of magnitude (since the mid-1990s). “ -Janet Yellen, Chair of the Federal Reserve 2014-Present "The complex challenges we face as a nation are best addressed in an environment of informed public discourse, which is only possible when policy decisions are made in as transparent a way as possible.” -Ben Bernanke, Former Chair of the Federal Reserve 2006-2014 “Government should be transparent. Transparency promotes accountability and provides information for citizens about what their Government is doing. Information maintained by the Federal Government is a national asset. My Administration will take appropriate action, consistent with law and policy, to disclose information rapidly in forms that the public may readily find and use. Executive departments and agencies should harness new technologies to put information about their operations and decisions online and readily available to the public. Executive departments and agencies should also solicit public feedback to identify information of greatest use to the public.” -Barack Obama, President of the United States.
