  2. How we started • Got an email • Few meetings • Lots of ideas

  3. What we found out • Most already on campus (Engineers without Borders, Green Campus, Sustainability Coalition) • Poor publicizing

  4. What we did • We joined them • No funding for ourselves

  5. 1st meeting • First meeting was a bit hectic • Room for 40 people, 60 people showed up • Kept about 35 people • 3 keynote speakers – Biomatrica, Faculty Advisor, Chris Prelitz

  6. Results • Have about 40 members or so • Currently 4 different projects -Biomatrica -Green Bikes -Air Quality - Water Efficiency In the process of acquiring two more: compost team, and underwater component for tracking sea urchin travel with Scripps Institute of Oceanography

  7. Biomatrica -Reduces cryogenic freezers -We have become their salesmen Symbiotic relationship where we both benefit from it

  8. Green Bikes • Training bikes into generators • Worked with Triathlon team • Project has finished

  9. Air Quality • Creating sensors to monitor particulate matter in the air

  10. Water Efficiency Working with facilities on their irrigation In and around Giesel library

  11. Difficulties • Funds • Communication with Facilities • Midterms • Persistence
