Dallin H. Oaks & Kristin McMain Oaks

  10. “My wife has the purest faith and deepest spirituality I know. … Paraphrasing what Mark Twain’s Adam said of his Eve, I say of her, Wherever she was, there was paradise.” Jeffrey R. Holland & Patricia Terry June 7, 1963, St. George Temple, 3 children

  11. “My wife, Susan, is a virtuous woman and a righteous mother. You will quickly see that purity and goodness are evident in her countenance. I love her and appreciate her more than words can express.” David A. Bednar & Susan Kae Robinson March 20, 1975, Salt Lake Temple, 3 children

  16. “My wife has taken me like potter’s clay and molded me into something that really matters. She knows when to draw me back, slow me down, and get it right. In large measure it’s her spiritual influence that has led to not only this beautiful and special calling but to everything that I’ve done spiritually.”w Elder and Sister Rasband September 4, 1973, in the Salt Lake Temple.

  17. During an Old Testament class at the institute of religion in Logan, he met Lesa Jean Higley, who had moved from California to Idaho and was now a student at Utah State. “The teacher asked Lesa to role-play as Eve and for me to play the role of Satan to tempt her. As a result, it took a while for me to convince her to go out with me.” They dated for just over a year and then married. He often quotes Doctrine and Covenants 81:5, which says, “Wherefore, be faithful; stand in the office which I have appointed unto you; succor the weak, lift up the hands which hang down, and strengthen the feeble knees” as a tribute of what Lesa has done for their family over the years. Elder and Sister Stephenson April 1979 in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple.

  18. “Aside from the decision to be active in the Church, marrying Ruth has been the most amazing thing in my life.”  Elder and Sister Renlund June 16, 1977 in the SLC Temple
