With levee project completion, an accompanying change in flood risk takes place. The change is made official. A change in designation can be accomplished through a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) or the issuance of a new, updated flood map. The outreach steps are essentially the same but the timeline for a LOMR is more compressed than for issuance of new maps.
