  5. Circle T Ranch and arena • Marvin Herb, owner • Includes arena, restaurant and cantina, retail store and another arena is being built

  6. The inn at Circle t • Opened by Tex Beshears, former owner of Circle T • Monica Stephen, manager

  7. Extension office • Shirley Gerald and Chelsea Dorwood, extension agents • 4-H and Agri-Life programs • Youth Day and 4-H Record Book judging

  8. Business center at h.i.s.d. • Ken Hamilton, business manager • Meredith Daniels, accounts payable

  9. Hamilton hospital district • Shadowed Dr. Charles Johnson, a family practitioner, in the clinic • Met with Hospital Administration

  10. Horizon dairy • Met Leslie DeJong, one of the owners, and took a tour around the dairy, learning about their day to day business

  16. How this internship has impacted me: my major

  17. After completing this internship, and getting to talk to many of the business owners and managers in Hamilton, Texas, I chose to switch my major back to General Business. • Going to Hamilton opened my eyes to many of the different types of jobs and businesses there are in a rural community, and getting a general business degree will help me to fulfill my dreams of moving back to a small town.

  18. How this internship has impacted me: a person

  19. Before going to Hamilton, I was very unsure of myself and my expectations of my future. After meeting so many in the community there, and staying with so many different families with different traditions and different views, I feel as though I have truly become more confident in my abilities. Getting to go to different businesses and truly seeing what goes on “behind the scenes” has helped me to choose a different path for myself, one that hopefully continues to help me grow.
