  2. DEMOGRAPHIC INFORMATION This information is gathered from data collected on the NEEDS Assessments completed in the New Mexico DWI Program for calendar years 2001, 2005, and 2011. SE represents the same data gathered from NEEDS Assessment completed in a Southeastern state. All numbers represent percentages except where otherwise noted.   9. SUBSTANCE USE/ABUSE ISSUES This section will reflect substance use history, recommended level of care, and treatment history. The NEEDS Assessment identifies first and second drugs of choice, as well as suggested DSM-IV Diagnosis and ASAM Level of Care recommendations. This again is significant when we look at developing curriculum, prevention programs, treatment programs, etc. We may also need to delve more deeply into all these numbers to see if the programs are encountering people with more severe substance abuse issues than in past years.
