  2. “The Sky Clouded” The shadow of all that shone, the bad seed, Mordred. He is speaking to you from the wind with a raven’s black tongue. The wind blew cold off the sword-gray sea. The sky clouded. Forty babes were brought to the sea to die. Women wept. Why did they all have to die? The sky clouded. He felt the cold wind cutting into him from the sea. A baby lay still as dawn, its silky head resting in the curve of his elbow. Its eyes, like deep pools of indigo, took him in for a moment like a spell. The sky clouded. He placed the dark-eyed babe gently in the coracle with the others. He cast off the mooring of the coracle and pushed it away from the quay. The sky clouded. My father.   4. Your assignment is to compose a found poem using lines from The Prologue and section one, The White Shadow, of the novel. Your poem should contain a minimum of ten lines and it must make sense, meaning, it should reflect some aspect of the story (tone, theme, mood, setting, etc.). You must include the page number on which you found the line in the margin of the poem. You will have 15 minutes to look for lines today and the remainder of the period tomorrow after your vocabulary quiz. Your poem is due Monday, March 24th.
