  2. assist To give help. The boy appreciated the assist his friend gave while he was doing his sit ups.

  3. burglaries Crimes where someone breaks into a building with the intention of stealing. Unlocked windows give easy access for many burglaries.

  4. innocent Not guilty of a crime. You are not innocent if you are caught red handed taking something that does not belong to you.

  5. scheme A plan or plot for doing something. They met to come up with a scheme for how to sell the briefcases.

  6. regretfully Full of regret The puppy regretfully asked for forgiveness for eating the homework.

  7. misjudged To judge wrongly. The man misjudged what size shoes he really needed.

  8. suspect A person suspected of a crime. The suspect left his fingerprints at the scene of the crime.

  9. favor A kind or helpful act. The woman did the girl a favor by tying her shoes for her.

  10. speculated To think deeply. She speculated over which job she needed to do next.

  11. prior Earlier. The student studied prior to taking the social studies test.
