  1. Romero Stancle BAP project 3rd period

  2. Man Ray This portrait shows the face of the De Sade with the bastille as background. It looks like the artist tried to make the face blend in with the bricks shining through. This portrait is an example of surrealist art and man ray did a good job in portraying the darker side Of surrealist art. Portrait imaginaire de Sade (1938)

  3. This is very cool because My favorite color is blue and I like how they put emphasis On the eye. They but emphasis On the eye because the Picture is in black and white And the eye is the only Part of the face with color And that caught my attention. The values in the eye are very Nice because it has a textured Look and you could really see The lines in the eye. The artist Also did a good job in showing A light source because I can See were the light is coming From in this portrait.

  4. BAP Process • 1. In this project we had to find things that wouldn't’t be what society would normally call beautiful. • 2. We had to look through magazines and the web to find things that we think are beautiful. • 3. I chose my two features: A flat lumpy neck and big ears • 4. we make a sketch in our sketchbook using the two features we want to emphasize. Next page..

  5. 5. we had to transfer our drawing from our sketchbook on a large paper. • 6. we had to use water color pencils as our medium to give the face some values, and to make our features stand out. • 7. we had the option of making a poem, or a story but I chose to write a poem. • 8. we had to create a background that would complement the portrait.

  6. Final BAP

  7. Ears that is so different Like bugs bunny was up doc With carrots in the crop Hearing bugs chomping away But still there is no way Neck so fat and lumpy But also very chunky Not much an ordinary neck More like a T-Rex Bite and own to the next But deep inside his eyes The look of a beautiful sunrise After all he is only human Blood pumping through his Veins With knowledge going through his brain
