Maximizes Instructional Time “Look Fors” • Little time lost on classroom procedures. • Little time lost transitioning between parts of the lesson/lesson activities. • Reasonable/appropriate time spent on each component of the lesson. • Sense of urgency.
Academic Engagement/Accountability “Look fors” • Clear expectation of student participation. • High level of participation, from a variety of students. • Students engaged in a variety of activities. • Minimized idle time • Use of varied questioning strategies & response expectations.
Behavioral Management/Accountability “Look Fors” • Clearly stated behavioral directions. • Misbehaviors addressed quickly with little interruption. • Use of verbal and non verbal behavior cues. • Respectful, positive classroom tone.
