  1. Useful Tips for Making Successful Telemarketing Calls Script plays an important role in telemarketing. It requires careful planning to help telemarketers get through the calls in a professional manner. The reason why many telemarketing campaigns don’t work is because there are mistakes in the script being used. There isn’t enough focus in the flow for telemarketers to channel from ‘introduction’ to ‘post close’ call phases. It is expected that the telemarketer will think outside the box and come up with an effective re- sponse but in reality, that is not the case. This is next to impossible if the telemarketer is inexperi- enced or not well-trained. If an inexperienced telemeters is making a call to your prospect, there are chances that his/her ineffective delivery of the telemarketing script will leave a negative impact on your company. This will result in customer retention issues and reduce sales. Therefore, a team of professional and well-trained telemarketers is a necessity. Another challenge that telemarketers face is not knowing how to overcome the primary fears of the prospects. If the prospect has driven the conversation to a new direction, it becomes necessary for the telemarketer to give them relevant answers. If they fail to answer the queries of prospects, it will become difficult for them to retain the prospects’ attention for a long time. Here are some of the steps that can help telemarketers make successful calls: Introduction is very important when a telemarketing agency is making calls to prospects. It is nec- essary to introduce themselves to the prospects and tell them why they are calling. For instance, they can start the call by saying- Good morning, this is (name) and I am calling on behalf of (com- pany’s name) that offers (mention products and services) to individuals (mention the prospect’s area of interest). Then comes the step where they need to mention reference or cite history. If not, then it is recom- mended for telemarketers to say that their client requested them to contact the prospect person- ally for a specific reason. It is very important that the telemarketers are requesting for time. In case the prospect is busy, they should always ask for an appropriate time when they can call them back. Explaining the purpose of call is equally important. One more important step in telemarketing is ‘probing’ in which the telemarketers ask at least three levels of open ended questions in an attempt to qualify the prospects, establish his/her needs and wants and create a need for the company’s offerings. Once the needs of the prospects are qualified, their wants are established and the need for the company’s offerings is created, remaining steps become a cakewalk. They will have to get a reac- tion from the prospects to confirm whether or not their needs have been fulfilled with the infor- mation that was offered to them. It is very important to find a reliable telemarketing agency if you want only experienced telemarket- ers calling your prospects. So make sure you do some research and hire the best service provider.
