What have you learned so far from the interviews? • Each team to report (2 min per team) • What was the main finding? • What new did you learn? • What does each stakeholder need from a MOCC? • How each stakeholder relates with a MOOC?
Search for meaning • Look at the interviews of your stakeholders • Find themes (20 min) • Look for themes, key words and write them on post its • Try to group these post-its and create broad Headlines! • Have a closer look at your themes and the stories that support them, and express them in a meaningful way, e.g., “There is a lack of space for teachers to do their work.” Write a full sentence!
Search for more meaning! • Make sense of findings (20 min) • Are there are any links among the sentences that you have created? • Are there headlines that you have different opinions about? What are you most excited about? • Can you see any challenges placing these headlines together? • Do you need to drop some headlines?
Stakeholders’ need statements …(stakeholder).. is a…(adjectives that describe the stakeholder)….. who …(verb that captures the core process/activity through which the stakeholder get value)….. needs a way to …. (verb that describes the core problem / issue the stakeholder faces) because…..(value captured from previous action) How might we … [verb]… so that … [for who?] … can … [need/ insight?]
Evaluate your team’s need statements • What did you find most inspiring? • How is this inspiring learning links with the brief? Is through a specific user? • How can you communicate best your insight? • Experiment with the wording and structure to best communicate your insights • Create short and memorable sentences that get to the point
