Examples of Distribution companies: • There are a number of different distribution companies but the following are the most well known out of them all: • Paramount Pictures • Dreamworks • Columbia • Touchstone Pictures • Metro Goldwyn Mayer 5
Our Distribution Company: • The distribution company we chose to use was Lionsgate. We chose this as they are a UK company so this money would have funded the British Film Industry. 6
Independents: • Some companies work outside of the huge corporations. Usually British productions are made by smaller companies who don’t have as much funds as the big hollywood chains but this way helps to keep the british film industry alive. Films made this way sometimes struggle to 1-2 million pound budgets and even sometimes don’t go into profit, or if they do, they’ll have to wait a while for the money to come back. 7
Film4: • Film4 is a british film production company who produce a large number of UK films. This company is owned by Channel4 whom are a significantly bigger company which is probably where they get their funding from. 8
