Introducing the X-factor - taking InterPlater to the highest level
Features & Benefits The InterPlater HDX continues the tried and trusted Glunz & Jensen technology from the first generation, but at the same time introduces selected innovative features that strengthen the product by offering even higher quality and productivity for high-end production. • Xtreme plate processing performance • Xcellent usability for the daily user • Xtra easy access for maintenance • the features and benefits of the X-factor changes are shown in the following slides.
Features & Benefits perfexion in plate processing quality and performance Pre-heat section • Powerful dual hot air circulation ovens with heat-sink guarantee continuous cross plate accuracy of +/- 3°C or better, with resistance to mains power variations (quality) and energy depletion at high productivity. More >> • The oven has two separate heating chambers each with closed loop air circulation to prevent heat from escaping to the pre-press room, thus reducing direct production cost and the indirect cost of maintaining an acceptable climate in the pre-press room. • The two separate oven chambers are each equipped with 2 heating elements that are individually controllable and enable 2-step oven functionality: accelerate and stabilize. • This preheat oven is superior to any other integrated oven on the market… Glunz & Jensen unique feature

Features & Benefits perfexion in plate processing quality and performance Development section • Simplified design using a dip tank with a dip-to-nip distance increase of 20%. New brush geometry provides an increase in soak time of 50%. See next slide >> • Firmly controlled developer conditions using circulation, heating and cooling to allow stability and compensation of plates entering developer and pre-press room conditions in general. • Plate specific configuration kits which together with the plate supplier have been tested and proven to provide optimal plate development. • Stable processing performance up to 2.2* m/min or +300* pph *) Depending on plate size and plate type • Minimum plate length down to 285 mm ~ 46” web presses. • Continuous co-operation with plate manufacturers assures optional development of the plate of your choice - now and in the future.
Features & Benefits perfexion in plate processing quality and performance Development section Dip-to-Nip: +20% increase Soak time: +50% 2nd Brush 1st Brush • What does it mean for development? See next slide >> • Stable processing performance up to 2.2* m/min or +300* pph • *) Depending on plate size and plate type
Features & Benefits perfexion in plate processing quality and performance Development section * InterPlater HDX will not process plates at 2.4 m/min Assumptions for the calculation Plate: 16 sec dwell dip-to-nip Plate size: 395 mm Plate spacing: 50 mm
Features & Benefits perfexion in plate processing quality and performance Prewash and wash section: Water consumption • InterPlater HDX has an water-saving kit that circulates the water in the prewash and wash tanks. • With this kit installed, the water consumption is determined by two factors: • Water replenish rate: typically 1000 ml/m2 in both prewash and wash • Water replacement frequency: e.g. every day • Calculation • Assumption: 550 plates/day of size (395 x 580) mm ~ 126 m2 • Water replenish: 1000 ml/m2 x 126 m2 = 126 l /day • Water replacement: wash = 14l Total daily consumption: 140 l/day for each unit @ 550 plates/day size (395 x 580) mm and daily water replacement ~ 2000 l/day in tapwater configuration
Features & Benefits control panel with xceptionally simple user interface Control panel • Graphical control panel with on-screen touch display • LED Alarm indicator on top of panel for remote visual indication of status • Use of graphical symbols and 3-level colouring provides instant recognition. • Menu structure change with access levels, i.e. simple/limited functionality available to daily operator. • On-line help/explanations • User information and help text in native language (on roadmap) • All G&J products use this control panel, i.e. know one = know all Glunz & Jensen unique feature
