It also shows the roads to be deserted because people are afraid to come out as result of the riots. In Source B, it shows the damage it has caused to people and properties. In the Source, it states that ‘widespread destruction public property’ and ‘Eighteen persons were killed’. This implies that there was damage to lives and property.

  2. They are similar in their purpose of showing the seriousness of a riot. Source A aims to explain to its readers the outcome of a riot so that they understand the seriousness of it. In the source, it states that there was ‘destruction’ to property and lives and arrests as well. In Source B, it aims to portray the damage that can be caused by a riot so that students understand the seriousness of a riot. In this source, it shows a burning vehicle and a deserted street.
