Most people living in SASE Africa and Middle East say that the increasing usage of the internet has improved their education sector significantly. They also point out that internet connectivity has helped them to grow economically, be aware of politics and improve their personal relationships as well. The survey conducted in the African region has also indicated that most Africans use their mobile phones for entertainment and social purposes. However many people also use their mobile devices for receiving and sending payments. The study has also indicated that the younger generation, more educated and higher-income people are inclined to use the internet. These people are the ones who own a Smartphone and often engage in social networking.

Another forty-two percent of people use the internet to collect information about medicine and health issues. There is a huge difference between the smartphone user and the basic phone user.
