Summary of actions 13/02/2014
LINAC2 | PSB & PS Legacy Systems • LINAC2 • Possibility for a new system briefly discussed, but finally no official request or budget allocation. • Currently, 8 detectors with the BLECFT portable measurement system. • PSB & PS legacy systems • All ACEMs removed for calibration • Approx. two more weeks needed • Afterwards, 2-3 days per machine for re-installation. • 22 new detectors used (last batch available; end-of-life) E. Effinger 13/02/2014
PS new acq. | SPS system E. Effinger • PS new acquisition system • New cables ready to be installed (< 1h) • Some small reduction in sensitivity to be expected • Remaining tasks are with BI/SW • PS Diamond based system • Two Diamonds available (pos. 16 & 42) • New position requested (pos. 15), but no cable is available • SPS system • Refurbishment of all crates • Replacement of HV power supplies • Some cable changes in LSS1; with deprecation of one monitor E. Effinger J. Emery

BLM Cable installation in PSB • New cable (CKC50) production run on tight schedule: • Modification of the CKB50 specs • Completed and delivered on-time • Re-installation in PSB • Conformity measured (developed a test-bench) • Completed on-time • Patch-Cords • Several types needed (lengthand connector type) • Currently under production Signal Cables HV Cables Signal and HV Patch-Cords 13/02/2014
BLM Detector Installation in PSB • Three periods require special supports due to space restrictions. • will be installed during technical stops • Patch-Cords not yet connected to the detectors • planned for next week • No access in period 12 due to crane renovation • scheduled for last week of February Tunnel installation: Very tight integration Support with Detectors configuration 13/02/2014
Status of PCB Development • All prototypes verified and functional. • Pre-Seriesproduction will need to cover needs till LS2. • Contracts for the Acquisition and Mezzanine modules ready – to be launched around March 2014. 13/02/2014
BLM Electronics installation in PSB • All large components have been installed: • Processing crate (VME64) • Acquisition crate • HV Distribution crate • Fan-trays • CIBUS • To be installed (currently under production): • Electronic cards • HV Power Supply crate • Signal Patch-cords (SMA-to-TRIAX) Rack in BAT42 Front view Rear view 13/02/2014
Dust issue in PSB rack • under the floating floor there is wood dust • probably from cutting the panels when the new floor support was installed (?) • cooling fans will deposit it in the electronics • Asked help from the PSB responsible (David Hay) 13/02/2014
