  2. Tropical Rain ForestGeography & Climate • Location: Near the equator. • Description: Warm temperature, lush plant grow. • Soil Type: Few nutrients it is poor because of the high number of organisms. • Precipitation: 200 to 600 inches of rainfall each year. • Temperature Range: 21 degrees Celsius 30 degrees Celsius

  3. Tropical Rain ForestBiodiversity • Plant Species: Tree trunk, branches, mosses, ferns, orchids, and epiphytes. • Owls, bats, frogs, deer, snakes, and pigs, mosquito.

  4. Tropical Rain ForestAdaptations Needed for Survival • Plant Species: Shallow wide roots, epiphyte, sunlight is a major limiting factor, plants grows in layers, and little sun reaches the floor. • Animal: Many symbiotic relationships, lives in different levels of a canopy, many animals are specialist and require camouflage, and special habitats is common for components to survive.

  5. Tropical Rain ForestInteractions of Biotic and Abiotic • Biotic : Needs rainfall to grow food, and earth’s most common land biome. • A biotic: A thing for biotic things to live, temperature rarely higher than 10 degrees Celsius permafrost layer, and short growing seasons .

  6. What is Biodiversity? • Biodiversity is a variety of life which has different kinds of species in it.

  7. How does biodiversity contribute to the sustainability of an ecosystem? • Biodiversity allows us to live healthy and happy lives. It provides us with an array of foods and materials and it contributes to the economy.
