  3. Please do not send potato chips, cookies, sodas, or candy! Pack a Healthy Snack Juice or Water Celery & Peanut Butter Crackers & Cheese Fruit

  4. Preparing For School • Get a good night’s sleep. (11 hours of sleep) • Eat a good breakfast. • Brush your teeth.

  5. Student Drop off • Breakfast is served at 7:30 a.m. • Kindergarten gate opens at 7:45 a.m. • School begins at 8:00 a.m. • If the Kindergarten gate is closed, please take your child to the office to check in. • If your child eats breakfast in the cafeteria you may leave them to eat with the cafeteria staff supervising. An adult with walk the students to the K playground. Please be on time!

  15. School Volunteers • Special class activities • Art projects • Read a book to our class in your own language! • Talk to our class about your career or your culture! • Work on projects at home Family support = Your child’s success in school!

Scholastic Book Orders • Your child will bring home a paper catalogue every month. • Complete the order form. • Make your check payable to Scholastic Books. • Return the order form and $$$ or check in an envelope to your child’s teacher. • Within a few weeks your children will receive their books from the teacher

  17. Homework • Homework is sent home on Mondays and should be completed and returned by Fridays • If your child is frustrated with the homework or has been sick, please see your child’s teacher. • If your child has lost their homework, please see your child’s teacher. • It is very important to LOOK inside your child’s backpack every night! Homework will begin on Oct. 6th.

Parent Communication • Checking the marquee in front of the school. • Check the window by the office for posted notices. • Call and leave a message with the office. • Write a note and send it with your child. • Set up a time to speak to your child’s teacher after school. • Send an e-mail to the teacher.

  19. Tips From the Teachers • Write your child’s first and last name on all of their clothing…with a permanent marker. • At home practice tying shoe laces, buttoning clothing, and putting on jackets. • Inform the office or your child’s teacher if you have a change of ANY contact information.
