  2. What is Real Simple Syndication • RSS is your solution to managing information on the internet. • RSS saves you time and energy. • No more exhausting searches through myriad web sites. • Let your computer work for you!

  3. How does RSS work? • Weblogs and other internet sites produce a hidden code in a language similar to HTML. • The RSS code language is called XML. • The code is known as a “feed.” • If you program your computer to gather feeds, you do less work!

  4. How are Fido and an Aggregator Alike? Fido loves to fetch. He’ll collect anything you teach him to! An RSS feed software is called an aggregator-- a feed collector.

  5. How are Feeds like “Fido”? • Both can fetch! • Fido needs commands. • Feeds need “aggregators.” • Aggregators are “feed collectors.” • They use a “Feed Reader,” to aggregate, or “fetch.”

  7. Teaching Feedo to fetch is easy. • Sign up. Bloglines and Feedbucket are FREE aggregators. • Select resources/sites you want. • Feed their URLS into the aggregators. • Now, all the information from these sites will come to you, 24/7.
