Warm-Up: I Am Poem • Select one team member to read the “I Am” poem • Please share one message/idea from this poem that resonates with you • How does the use of the “I am” poem or a similar activity support our teaching and student learning?

Share EL Strategy Implementation • Write down one EL strategy that you have implemented since the beginning of the 2010-11 school year • In your table teams, share your strategy with colleagues • Select a spokesperson • Spokesperson reports your group’s discussion to the entire group
What’s New in the EL Program? • Master Plan for Services to English Learners was adopted in April 2010 2. ELD Programs: Edge for grades 9-12 Inside for grades 6-8 (pilot) 3. Accountability system for measuring the effectiveness of the EL program
