  7. Writing Copy • 5-7 sentences on WEEKLY spreads • 7-10 sentences on SPORTS/ACT spreads • 3-4 quotes • one per grade level • Begin and end with good quotes • THIRD person • Past tense • Refer to students by last name AND grade

  8. Writing Captions • 2-sentence formula • 1st – what is happening, present tense • 2nd – quote from student involved • Use various starters • Use “said” only • Use last name after full name has been given once
