Post your 5-7 sentence paragraph response on the turnitin.com discussion board AND respond/comment on at least one other person’s submission (minimum of 4 sentences), for a total of 2 entries. Respond to the quote by explaining the author’s argument and then sharing your thoughts about it. Make sure you begin your response by rewriting the quote you chose and mentioning the author throughout your response.

  11. HOMEWORK “Our mental environment is a common-property resource like the air or the water. We need to protect ourselves from unwanted incursions into it, much the same way we lobbied for nonsmoking areas ten years ago.” - KalleLasn “The superior man understands what is right; the inferior man understands what will sell.” - Confucius “It's in our biology to trust what we see with our eyes. This makes living in a carefully edited, overproduced and photoshopped world very dangerous.” - Brene Brown

  12. HOMEWORK “If you want to know what’s really going on in a society or ideology, follow the money. If money is flowing to advertising instead of musicians, journalists, and artists, then a society is more concerned with manipulation than truth or beauty. If content is worthless, then people will start to become empty-headed and contentless.” - Jaron Lanier “Advertising design, in persuading people to buy things they don`t need, with money they don`t have, in order to impress others who don`t care, is probably the phoniest field in existence today.” - Victor Papanek “It is really not so repulsive to see the poor asking for money as to see the rich asking for more money. And advertisement is the rich asking for more money.” - G.K. Chesterton
