  3. LACNIC • Staff: • New CTO – Arturo Servín <- (that´s me) • New hostmaster - Sofía Silva (now we have 2!!) • New I+D Engineer - Carlos Silva • Currently 23 FTE. 25 expected for the end of the year. • Membership • 1300 members! 3

  4. Internet Resources Update • Two new /8s from IANA • 177/8 and 181/8 • Now in “research” stage • Resource Allocation • IPv4: 0.78/8 in 2010 • IPv6: 70 /32s • ASNs: 143 4

LACNIC XII • 250 participants, 19 countries • Members Annual Assembly • Policy Forum (6 policies under discussion) • 7 Tutorials (IPv6, BGP, CSIRT, RPKI, DNSSEC, EPP) • Interconnection forum - IXs/NAPs (7th) • Network security forum (5th) • IPv6 Forum (8th) • GWG • LACTLD Members Assembly and Policy Workshop 5

Other important projects • AMPARO • To provide training and to promote the creation of Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs) • FRIDA • Regional Fund for Digital Innovation in Latin America and the Caribbean • Raíces (Roots) • Target: To install anycast copies of root servers (DNS) in the region • Public Affairs 6
