PART 1 A Taxonomy of freedom: The various isms, individual sovereignty and the Liberal Ideal
A Taxonomy of freedom By liberalism I don’t mean the creed of any party or any century. I mean a generosity of spirit, a tolerance of others, an attempt to comprehend otherness, a commitment to the rule of law, a high ideal of the worth and dignity of man, a repugnance for authoritarianism and a love for freedom – Alan Paton The Liberal Ideal Is Libertarianism on the right side of the Liberal Ideal?

A Taxonomy of freedom Never forget that Roosevelt was a Republican Just not the Roosevelt you are thinking about People all around the world are trapped in circumstances, not of their own making, suffering under the heavy burden of history, but seeking a way out of their particular trap so as to restore their own human dignity and find security in their homes for their families and for the well being, development, and education of their children. They wish for peace. We all wish for peace, a sustainable peace in which justice triumphs and the dignity of humanity is restored, protected and elevated. South Africa has undertaken that journey – Kader Asmal Progressivism The great cop out
A Taxonomy of freedom The main lesson which the true liberal must learn from the success of the socialists is that it was their courage to be Utopian which gained them the support of the intellectuals and therefore an influence on public opinion which is daily making possible what only recently seemed utterly remote - Hayek The Liberal Agenda The flipside of “Military Intelligence”

PART 3 The Levying of Serfdom
The Levying of Serfdom A definition of poverty Economic agency
The Levying of Serfdom If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business -- you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn't get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet. The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together. There are some things, just like fighting fires, we don't do on our own. I mean, imagine if everybody had their own fire service. That would be a hard way to organize fighting fires. Obama said what? And more importantly why is he right, and why is he wrong?

CONCLUSION Lunch is as free as everything else in the universe
Lunch is as free as everything else in the universe FREEDOM is the ability to choose to give your neighbour a lunch at no cost other than enduring your company and for your neighbour to choose whether to enter into this transaction. In a civilized society people are free, and encouraged, to be socially minded; but more importantly they are free from government controlling how they contribute towards improving lives. FREE LUNCH You are welcome to give lunch away for free. And that is not a hint
