  2. Parts of a friendly letter: • Heading : • Your street adress • City, State ZIP • Current Date (Month, Day, Year) Example: 1234 Any Street My Town, OH 45764 July 12,2007 Friendlyletter

  3. Heading : • Your street adress • City, State ZIP • Current Date (Month, Day, Year) 2.Greeting: • Dear, Hi, Hello, Hey there • Comma after the greeting: Example: Dear Oriana, Friendlyletter

  4. Heading • Greeting, • Body: Intro Paragraph: 3-4 sentences explaining your purpose for writing. The number of paragraphs can vary since it is a casual response. No space between the paragraphs but you do have to indent the text to let the reader know it is a new paragraph. In friendly letters, you can omit the address and just specify the date of the letter. As well you might use block format (spaces between paragraphs and no indentation). Friendlyletter

Body: (1-3 paragraphs) • Introductoryparagraph: 3 or 4 sentencesexplainingthepurpose of yourwritting. • 2nd paragraph: youhaveto single spaceit and avoidindenting in businessletterfollowingthe “block format,” thisparagraph can includeadditionalinformationaboutthepurpose of writting in a lenght of 3-5 sentences Business letter

Second paragraph: 3-5 sentences would be good for a second paragraph, in which you should include supporting details or additional information. Concluding paragraph: 2-3 sentences summarizing your previous statements and including any additional information. 4. Closing and signature (ex. Sincerely, respectfully) Example: Respectfully, Signature Typed Name.

  11. Your name needs to be typed beneath your signature • Possible closings include “sincerely”, and “respectfully.” • In a business letter one should include all the information of the recipient. • In a business letter the register should be formal. General aspects of a bussiness letter
