  2. 4 Sections The library at Crestline is arranged in 4 sections: • Easy Fiction (Picture Books) • Fiction Chapter Books • Non-fiction (Information Books) • Biography

Looking for Books • To find books in the library you have to know these sections and where they are located. • The 4 sections each have their own abbreviations: Easy books - E Fiction Chapter books - FIC Non-fiction books - 000 – 999 (numbers) Biography books - B • These abbreviations are found on the spine labels of the books.

Easy Picture Books • The Easy section is made up of picture books. • Easy books use illustrations (pictures) to tell lots of the story. • Sometimes the illustrations in easy books tell a different part of the story than the words do. • Sometimes the illustrations are even more important than the words in easy books. • Easy picture books are “made-up” stories from the author’s imagination.

  7. Choose the best answer: What is an Easy book? • An Easy book has no illustrations or pictures in it. • In an Easy book the illustrations or pictures are not important. • An Easy book tells part of the story in illustrations or pictures. • Easy books tell true stories.

Fiction Chapter Books • Fiction Chapter books usually have more words than easy picture books, and fewer pictures. • In Fiction Chapter books, the words are more important for the story than the pictures are. • Fiction Chapter books usually have more words on each page than Easy books do, and the story is usually long. • Fiction Chapter books are “made up” stories.
