  4. Pass/ Fail Test • Our way of testing our value proposition is mainly through 1 on 1 interviews and collecting feedback. • We interviewed people, mainly students to see whether they travel and if they do, if ever they travel at night. • Then asked them if they experience problems or difficulties in getting sufficient transport. • This was to get a sense of their pain they experience in having to travel at times where there is a lack of taxis.

  5. Pass/ Fail Test • Presentation to taxi drivers need to be made: • If they thought it was a feasible idea, and • If they would use this service • Our pass/fail conditions is that if more than 50% of customers interviewed tell us it is a good service and they would use it, then it is a successful business idea.

  6. Insight • Fixed rates may be easier to them • Money is an issue only if the service seems over priced • Groups should be taken into consideration • Would they be charged if there is traffic? • Using per 5km rates may be more effective • Most time they prefer savings over inconvenience • They would pay extra, once its not a lot.

  7. Hypothesis: What we though • People didn’t mind to pay extra, even if it was greater than the taxi far • People wouldn’t want to share to often because of safely reasons • Average everyday people would like a service like this • People don’t mind spending extra money to get home. • Fixed rates would be unfair to the customer.

  8. Experiments: What we did • Ask people if they would be interested in a personal point to point taxi service. • If they were not interested, we asked if they were trying to get home at night with no taxis, would they use the service. • What would be the minimum you would pay for certain long distance journeys? • Asked everyday travelers if they would use the service.

  9. Results: What we found People didn’t mind to pay extra, even if it was greater than the taxi fare. Only to a point, if its too expensive then they would take time over money. People wouldn’t want to share to often because of safely reasons. People doesn’t mind sharing, they feel comfortable travelling with others, especially because this means discount to them.

  10. Results: What we found Yes they do, but they want to know its cost effective. If not then they may only use it once in a while. People don’t mind spending extra money to get home. They will spend large amount of money if they have to, but they will not do this often. Fixed rates would be unfair to the customer. Some would rather fixed rates. 21 out of 25 people (84%) who we interviewed said they would use our service if they had to travel home. Therefore our value proposition test was passed successfully.
