  3. Introduction Currently, all services are deployed on a private federated grid setup between the University of Minnesota and the Mayo Clinic utilizing many of the core caGrid services. Introduction University Of Minnesota UMN/Mayo Private Grid Mayo Clinic TROPIX Mayo GUI MSI TROPIX Services ProTIP GeneTIP ProTIP Services Federated Core CaGrid Services Internal Mayo Services TINT Portal GeneTIP Services Conclusion TINT Portal Mayo TROPIX Services Minnesota Supercomputing Institute

  4. TROPIX TROPIX is a joint project between MSI and the Mayo Clinic to provide caGrid services to search for and share data and advertise and request laboratory services. Introduction TROPIX TROPIX Services (MSI Perspective) ProTIP Data Search Service Lab Request Service Lab Services Search Service User Directory Service GeneTIP TINT Portal Conclusion TINT Portal Catalog Software TINT Storage Service Minnesota Supercomputing Institute

  5. ProTIP ProTIP is MSI’s project to create analytical services for proteomics research. caGrid’s use of Globus is allowing us to put these services on our supercomputers. 7. TINT Portal The TINT Portal is MSI’s end-user interface that ties all of these services together. Users are using it to share data and do actual research using ProTIPcaGrid services. Introduction TROPIX ProTIP GeneTIP TINT Portal Conclusion Minnesota Supercomputing Institute

  8. Conclusion MSI makes extensive use of caGrid software to facilitate cutting edge research. Several improvements to caGrid would improve our development process. Introduction • Greater Automation! Ease automation of service development, customization, and deployment using Ant tasks and runtime configuration files. • Improve Scalability! Work with the Globus folks to migrate to an Axis stack that can more efficiently serialize large amounts of data. • Establish the Federation! Bring other institutions in as members of the public grid trust fabric. • Ease the Process! Make it easier to get silver/gold level compliance.
