  2. What is School Loop? School Loop is an online classroom portal designed specifically for K-12 school districts. • Homework assignments • Progress reports and grades • Attendance

  3. What is School Loop? School Loop provides the tools for schools and parents to work together for the success of each student. • LoopMail for communication • Daily email keeps you in the loop! • Groups for easy communication and collaboration

  4. Who Uses School Loop? • Teachers – participation is not mandatory • Students – students are given a login name and password by the school district • Parents/Guardians – must register themselves • Administrators • Staff • Members of your student’s Learning Management Team

  5. School Loop Enhances Communication • Parent registration takes only a few minutes. Once registered, parent accounts are approved by the school site. • School Loop improves communication with its secure, closed email system, called LoopMail. • Parents can keep track of their child’s homework assignments and grades, as well as school events. • Registered parents receive a daily homework email.

  6. School Loop Enhances Communication • Parents may be joined to groups created by a teacher, staff member or administrator. Parents can request new groups through the school’s administration. • Parents may send LoopMails to their student’s entire Learning Management Team. • For households not registered with School Loop, an automated telephone notification program named “Call Alerts” may be activated by a teacher to inform households about upcoming assignments and tests, in up to 22 different languages.

School Loop Increases Collaboration • As a member of a group, a parent can participate in group discussions, and post news to that group. • Parents may store documents to be shared in a group’s locker. This locker is bottomless. • Parents may become a contributor to or a webmaster of the school’s School Loop website.

How Do Students Log In? • Middle and high school students obtain login names and passwords from school site administrators.Elementary school studentsobtain login informationfrom their school office. • Students may change and recover their passwords by going to https://mylogin.sfusd.edu. Students should register with the password recovery/management software, using a link on the “mylogin” page.

  9. How Do Parents Register? Parent registration is a fairly quick process: • Parents must have their child’s Student ID number (H0xxxxxxxx). This may be obtained from a report card, a Student ID card, or from the school’s administration. • Parents must have a valid email address in order to complete registration.

  10. How Do Parents Register? Parents or guardians may register by going to www.sfusd.edu, click “Schools” on the left side, click the type of school or “All Schools”, click your school’s name and then click the link next to “School Loop”.

  16. Forgotten Password Forgotten passwords may be retrieved by clicking the “Forgot password?” link on the login page.

  17. What Do Parents See? • Published grades • Attendance (with 24-hour delay) • Student schedule • Calendar • School news and events • LoopMail Grades and attendance are made visible once the parent account is approved by the school site.

  23. Frequently Asked Questions (1) Question: How do I access my school’s School Loop web page? Answer: One way is to go to http://www.sfusd.edu. Click “Schools” on the left, then click the type of school or “All Schools”. Click on your school. Then click the link next to School Loop. Question: Can I use my student’s login and password? Answer: Please register as yourself and use your own login and password so you can receive the most accurate information, such as teacher emails.

  24. Frequently Asked Questions (2) Question:I cannot see my student’s grades or attendance. Why? Answer: Your account must be approved first by your school site before you will be able to view grades and attendance. The school site must ensure that you are your student’s legal guardian. Question:What attendance information is displayed? Answer: You should be able to see your student’s attendance information up to the previous day. Attendance data is brought into School Loop; there is a 24-hour delay.
