  2. FROM PASTTO THE FUTURE 1933 Turkish Airlines was founded by Mustafa Kemal ATATURK, the founder of Republic of Turkey

  3. FROM PASTTO THE FUTURE 1947 Operated first scheduled international flight (Ankara-Istanbul-Athens).

  4. FROM PASTTO THE FUTURE 1971 Boeing 707 has been leased and joined our fleet.

  5. FROM PASTTO THE FUTURE 1985 Airbus 310 has joined our fleet.

  6. FROM PASTTO THE FUTURE 2006 59 new aircrafts were ordered. First airline to open 23 new routes in a year time. First flight to Riga on 19 of April 2006.

  7. FROM PASTTO THE FUTURE 2008 Turkish Airlines became a full member of Star Alliance on 1st of April 2008. Number of aircrafts has reached 127.

  8. FROM PASTTO THE FUTURE 2010 Turkish Airlines has signed sponsorship agreement with FCBarcelona and Manchester United.

FROM PAST TO THE FUTURE Turkish Airlines was founded under law no. 2186 in ANKARA under the name “ STATE AIRLINES ADMINISTRATION" as a department of Ministry of Defence. 1933 1947 Operated first scheduled international flight (Ankara-Istanbul-Athens). Boeing 707 has been leased and joined our fleet. 1971 Airbus 310 has joined our fleet. 1985 Turkish Airlines was included within the scope of the privatization of Public Economic Enterprises. Initial public offering had taken place with 1.55 % 1990 2005 59 new aircrafts were ordered and 23 new flight routes were introduced. Turkish Airlines started flights to 25 destinations. Start flights to Riga on 19 of April! 2006 Full participation to Star Alliance was concluded in 1st April 2008. In 23 April 2008, domestic flights From Ankara via AnadoluJet has began. Number of aircraft has reached to 127. 2008 Turkish Airlines has signed sponsorship agreement with FCBarcelona and Manchester United. Start fly to Bologna, Acra, Dakka, Entebbe, Dar Es Salaam, Sochi, Washington DC, Ho Chi Minh City, Alexandria, Podgorica. 2010
