  1. Hoy es el diez de septiembre, esmartes. La pregunta: What countries have accents on their names in Spanish? La tarea: El examencito de los paíseshispanohablanteses el jueves

  2. La meta de hoy: I can locate, name and spell the Spanish speaking countries Plan de hoy: • El organizadorgráfico (la clase y individual) • Los mapas y lo colores • La pronunciación • ¿Dóndeestá…? • ¿Cómo se escribe….?

  3. El organizadorgráfico • Place the give country in the correct location on the board • Listen as SRA says a country. Write the country name under the correct location on your mini whiteboard (pay careful attention to spelling)

  4. Los mapas y los colores • Finish working on your map and worksheet. • Turn in worksheet when finished. • Complete pronunciation activity • Complete ¿Dóndeestá…? • Complete ¿Cómose escribe…?

  5. La pronunciación • Roll the dice. Read whatever column your dice indicates. Read it in the best Spanish you can. Also read as fast as you can. Now, your partner must roll the dice. *If you happen to roll the same number twice, just read the column again, this time trying to sound like a better Spanish speaker.

  6. ¿Dóndeestá…? • Choose an “easy” card. Partner A holds the card. Partner B reads the country name says on what area of land the country is located. Partner A confirms the answer or corrects the answer. • If partner B is correct, they move on to the next country. If they are incorrect, they chose a new card to attempt. • Now switch roles and partner B holds the “easy” cards and partner A determines the area of land on which the country is located. • When each person has finished all the “easy cards”, move on to the “challenge” cards. Read the directions carefully on the challenge cards!

  7. ¿Cómo se escribe…? • Partner A will read a country name to partner B. Partner B will write it on their spelling ladder, starting at the bottom rung. If you spell a word correctly, listen for the next country and write it on the next rung. If you spell it incorrectly, fix the spelling and write the next country on the SAME rung. When you get to the top rung, you are done! • (Work back and forth for this activity)

  8. La tarea • Examencito – el jueves….get studying!
