Deree College Environmental Club:Mission • The Environmental Club´s mission is • to promote awareness of environmental issues within the Deree College community • to encourage student participation in activities concerning pressing matters such as recycling, climate change, pollution, wise use of resources and the use of renewable energy sources • to help students appreciate the value of natural ecosystems • to support and further the development of establishing Deree College as a Green Campus.

Deree College Environmental Club:Club Activities • The goals of the club are achieved through a variety of activities: • Lectures by scientific experts and other distinguished speakers to inform students on environmental issues • Slide presentations on wildlife and natural ecosystems to encourage students to appreciate nature • Documentary screenings • Participation in exhibitions and in campaigns to raise environmental awareness, organized within the Deree College Community

Deree College Environmental Club:Club Activities • The goals of the club are achieved through a variety of activities (cont.): • Participation in College life and cooperation with other students, faculty and administration • Field trips to places of ecological interest • Visits to research centers, exhibitions, museums • Proposals to improve the environmental performance of Deree College.

OU Validation Event for Environmental Studies Program • Participation of environmental club members in the OU validation event for the Environmental Studies program, • March 15, 2011 • In its validation report, the OU panel commended: • “the engaged and articulate nature of the students” • “the existence, ethos and work of the Environmental Club”
