Stan Carroll Library • Vision Working within the framework of South West Healthcare’s vision, the library is committed to • Providing staff, affiliated organisations, health science students and members of the public with appropriate information to support patient care, education and research in the most cost efficient and effective way • Aiming to provide a setting conducive to independent learning and research and expertise in educating users in accessing and using the resources. • Forging effective partnerships with other health science and tertiary institutions for the benefit of library users.

Library Collections Stan Carroll library has owned approximate 6,000 items and includes print collections and electronic resources: Print Collections General Collection Locations : Stan Carroll Library Psychiatric Unit at Lava Street Patient Reference Collection Journal Collection Hospital Archives

Library Collections • Electronic Resource Clinicians Health Channel • Free clinical information portal for all Victorian public health workers • Includes journals, databases and point of care resources cover the full spectrum information needs for different health professionals • Provides Evidence-based resources which give clinicians a solid scientific grounding for decision making, assessing and diagnosis.   8. Library Facilities • Computer assets : • 7 computers are used for training. They do not connect to the printer • 8 computers are for the public. These computers connect to the printer • All computers have installed Microsoft Office Window 2007 • Have access to internet browsing • Photocopier

  9. Stan Carroll Library • Library Hours Monday – Friday 8.30 am – 5.30 pm After hours Hospital Staff may obtain a security access card from Switchboard
