Post-processing: Because of cost considerations, CAPP & CAM software produces generic CNC output. This output has to be converted (Post processed) into a format suitable for the particular CNC controller being used.
The part of the software that converts all the cutter path coordinates data to a specific CNC machine control.
i) Saves duplicating co-ordinates. • ii) Shortens the length of the program. • iii) Saves computer memory. Reduce program length • Able to edit only one line if required

The start up procedure must include – • Turn the main isolator on. • Turn the screen on. Machine co-ordinates are visible. • Using the jog mode, jog all axes away from machine datum position. • Press the home button, press the axis buttons. • Check the machine co-ordinates are showing zero on all axes.
