  3. Background of The Pantry • The Pantry at Camarillo SDA Church was originally established when the Church itself began in the late 60’s • Originally named “Dorcas” after the helpful woman in the bible and was then later changed to The Pantry

  4. Current Mission Statement • In truth, The Pantry does not currently have a mission statement • Also, when it was titled Dorcas, there was not a mission statement for their work

  5. About The Pantry • The Pantry is open every Tuesday from 4-6 p.m. and has an average of 10 volunteers per week • The Pantry gives away donated food, clothes, toys, and other supplies to over 10,000 families every single year

  6. Last Annual Report for The Pantry • Although The Pantry does not post their annual reports publically, as mentioned before they serve an average of 10,000 families per year, giving these people all supplies necessary to live

  7. Primary Source Interview • The Pastor at Camarillo SDA Church, Dennis Stirewalt, constantly and openly states that “The Pantry is a direct line into the aid of the needy and homeless population in Camarillo and the surrounding areas.” The Picture quality to the left is not that good, but in the back right is my Pastor Dennis Stirewalt, and in the front is Pantry regular Mike Johnson

  8. My Experience at The Pantry • While serving at The Pantry, I have learned many life lessons • I have learned that God is truly alive in the hearts of these people that are helped • I have also seen in a first hand experience the effects of The Pantry’s generosity

  9. Concluding Thoughts • In conclusion, The Pantry at Camarillo SDA Church is an amazing and beautiful thing for the outcome and benefit of Ventura County • My work time at The Pantry has truly changed my life for the better and allows me to have a positive outlook on what I am blessed with everyday
