  3. Projects 2014 Strategic line 1. Promotion of Libraries in Society Objective 1.1: improve the perception of libraries in society. Projects • The Study “The economic and social value of information services: libraries” has designedan indicators map that will be tested through the implementation of a pilot project for testing the indicators. • Creation of a Strategic Working Group for the Development of a Common Platform of Decentralized Data Management. • Assign the Working Group of Informational Literacy the elaboration of a document studying the informational competencies throughout the different education levels

Sustainability of the library services in the new informational and social environment Objective 2.1: Drive studies of prospective in libraries Report “Prospective 2020: the areas that will most change in libraries in the next 10 years” Objective 2.2: Encourage the cooperation between libraries and stakeholders Projects • Creation of a Strategic Working Group for the Cooperation Between Public and School Libraries that will elaborate a model of Municipal Reading Plan. • Creation of a Strategic Working Group that will design a Program for interchange of professionals in libraries in Spain, coordinated by FESABID

  5. Itions so far EUROPEANA EuropeanaSearch Widget Allows you to enrich your website with links to items from Europeana (over 31 million digital objects). About 190 public libraries in Spainare participating. Public domain labelling Europeananow includes more than 1 million newspaper articles from the Spanish aggregator Hispana that are correctly labelled as being in the Public Domain. LoCloud: Local contents in the Europeana Cloud Best Practice Network that will enrich the Europeana content by adding over 4 million digitised items from European cultural institutions. 32 partners of 28 countries. We contribute to the project with 30% of content

Meeting Libraries and Town Celebrated every 2 years since 2005 (5 editions so far) Aim to highlight successful projects where Local Government has gone in for the Public Library as agents for the development in their communities It includes presentations of Best Practice that have succeed thanks to the implication of the Local Government. We invite one speaker from the City Council and a representative of the Public Library, that explain the details of the project. Last edition (the fifth) Madrid last 1st October and was dedicated to cooperation projects between Public Libraries and School Libraries, with the participation of the Local Authorities (Local Government).

  7. Spanish Public Libraries Congress Held every two years, it’s targeted at public librarians, with an expected audience of 500 professionals on site, apart from all those that will be able to follow the Congress through live streaming of the sessions and social networks.
