What is Neoserra? • Neoserra is the next general Client Activity Tracking System provided by OutreachSystems. • Neoserra is based upon the most current technology and promises to provide a complete CRM system for economic development organizations. • Neoserra is a new application based upon the old WebCATS database structure. • Because both applications share the same database structure migration from WebCATS to Neoserra is completely transparent. • In fact, administrators will continue to use WebCATS for some higher end features.
How do I log into Neoserra? • You will use your same username and password for Neoserra as you have used in the past for WebCATS. • Your same permissions will apply. • The only change you need to make is the URL you go to to access the database. • OLD: • https://illinois.outreachsystems.com • NEW: • https://illinois.neoserra.com
What should I know before I log in? • Neoserra does not support Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0. • If you are using IE 8 (which is 5 years old), then you should consider upgrading to IE 9, 10 or 11 or change to a different browser. (See FAQ: http://www.outreachsystems.com/resources/help/neoserra/faq.jsp?id=n217) • Documentation is still being added on a daily basis to Neoserra, and some features have not yet been documented.
What should I know before I log in? • Neoserra is still under development! Most of the WebCATS functionality has been brought over to Neoserra, plus we added a whole lot more: • Consolidated Milestones interface • Professional Development module • View real-time and instant charts based upon activity • Create calendar reminders and integrate with Google Calendar, Apple iCal and Outlook
What should I know before I log in? • Plus: • Create email messages as counseling sessions • Create email messages with attachments • Customize all record types, including counseling sessions • Mass update capability of client fields • Upload images for counselors/centers/login page • Access Neoserra in your own time zone • Access Neoserra in Spanish
What should I know before I log in? • Still under development: • Import EDMIS Error Logs (you can already create EDMIS Exports) • Chrisman reporting features All of these functions can be performed in WebCATS in the interim
What should I know before I log in? • The following legacy features will not be included in Neoserra: • Comparative Reports • Impact Grouping Reports • Training Event Summary Surveys • Contact Surveys
Terminology Changes • Investments are called: Capital Funding in Neoserra • Conferences are called: Training Events in Neoserra • Conference Sign-ups are called: Training Requests • Client Sign-ups are called: Intake Requests • Subsets are called: Filters in Neoserra • Accessed via “Blue Ribbon” • Counselors are called: whatever you want in Neoserra!
General Navigation Tips and Tricks • Where is the Save button? • Save button is generally found at the bottom of the screen, but you don’t need it! Just press Enter to save you changes on all field types except Notes or drop down. • Where is the Duplicate check option? • You don’t need it, since Neoserra will auto check for you both on eCenter requests and when adding clients/contacts • Hover-over gives immediate info • Where is the Delete option? • To delete a record look under the More menu • To delete a session you should be in View mode • Where are the field links? • All external Web sites are accessible from Help menu

General Navigation Tips and Tricks • How do I change centers?
Creating New Client/Session • All data is entered directly on the client/contact record (no longer necessary to navigate through the client merlin) • Navigate to View/Clients and click New • Duplicates are shown at bottom • Pre-Clients/Contacts can be made into clients under the More menu
Create Counseling Session from Email • On client record, clicking on email link will bypass the Neoserra email module; you must select More|Email to get the functionality • The functionality to add an email as a counseling session is automatically provided when sending emails from filter or training events
Creating Milestone • All Milestones are presented on one data entry screen (each milestone, however, is saved as a separate and independent record) • Counseling session can be automatically created as part of milestone entry • Follow-up calendar reminder prompt is offered at the end of the milestone entry screen • FAQ: http://www.outreachsystems.com/resources/help/neoserra/faq.jsp?id=n211
When should I switch to Neoserra? • Whenever you want! • You have all of 2014 to migrate to Neoserra. WebCATS will retire on December 31st, 2014. • All users don’t have to switch over at once, the migration can occur counselor by counselor, center by center • And you always have WebCATS to fall back on!
