  2. My Family I have a wonderful husband of 12 years and two sons, Tyler (3rd grade) and Matthew (Kindergarten). Walt Disney World, Spring 2012

Schooling • Graduated from Hewitt-Trussville High School just like many of you will one day! • Bachelor’s degree from Birmingham-Southern College in collaborative elementary education • First master’s degree from UAB in elementary education • Second master’s degree in school counseling from the University of West Alabama

  4. Career • 4th grade teacher at Greystone Elementary in Hoover, 2001-2005 • 4th grade teacher at Paine Intermediate School in Trussville, Alabama, 2005-2011 • School guidance counselor at Paine Intermediate, 2011-present

  7. What I Love About My Job… I love being able to make a difference in the lives of so many children by teaching whole-class guidance lessons, conducting small group meetings, and meeting with students one on one. Students often come to me with a problem they think I can solve. Instead of solving the problem, I work with the student to figure out how they can effectively solve their own problems. It is so rewarding to help students identify ways they can be successful in all areas of life!
