Characters • Bethany is the main character in the book • Elizabeth is Bethany’s sister • Walter (Dad) is very protective of Bethany • Hillary (Mom) is very sad and depressed • Aunt Myrlie is kind and sweet to Bethany • Van Dyne is sympathetic for children • Joss is Elizabeth’s best friend/cousin

  3. Setting • The setting is in Sanderfield, Illinois near Bethany’s 13th Birthday at Aunt Myrlies house

  4. Events • Bethany’s mother was constantly crying • Bethany’s parents drop her off at an Aunt’s house who she never knew she had • People started saying she looked exactly like someone called “Elizabeth” • She found out she was a clone of Elizabeth • Bethany runs off and Joss finds her, then they encounter a man in a Black car who knows their names, but they don’t know him

  5. Events • Bethany receives a box containing $10,000 and 4 different birth certificates, all with different last names. (Bethany Ebern, Roknowski, Krull, and Cole • Van Dyne goes to Aunt Myrlie’s house and ask where Walter (Bethany’s dad) is • They go to the Halloween party and they see Bethany’s mom and dad staring past her at Van Dyne and find out that her parents were supposed to make a clone out of Van Dyne, and not Elizabeth
