  3. Choosing your courses Consider the following: • credit accumulation • minimum 7 courses • post secondary pre-requisites • evaluate your abilities • talk to teachers, parents, siblings, friends • see yourguidance counsellor

  4. Graduation Requirements • 30 credits (18 compulsory, 12 electives) -students must complete group 1, group 2 and group 3 credits • 40 hours community service • Literacy test – March 27

Post Secondary Considerations Ontario universities require six Grade 12 U/M courses College has a variety of prerequisites depending on program (ENG4C, MAP4C, SBI3C, SCH4C) Different university/college programs have different prerequisites Majority of courses in grade 12 have grade 11 prerequisites! Know what they are! Check the Course Calendar online for course descriptions & prerequisites

Specialist High Skills Majors (SHSM) Programs What is a SHSM? • Certification and in-depth training in a chosen employment sector • Student will take a bundle of credits • Taken in Grade 11 and 12 • One semester at host school • Coop required • Remaining credits at home school • Red Seal on OSSD
