Research Internships. Why?. An internship is an incredible and eye-opening experience! It exposes you to the environment, procedures, tasks,etc that you will see in college! They are essentially head-starts for what to expect during your undergrad years.

Why? • An internship is an incredible and eye-opening experience! • It exposes you to the environment, procedures, tasks,etc that you will see in college! • They are essentially head-starts for what to expect during your undergrad years. • Colleges love them! They show that you are passionate and interested in the field of medicine!
How Can I Get One? • Send emails, send more emails, and then send more emails! • Make a resume to attach to them. • Copy and paste! Most efficient method! • Alternatively, you could check out summer internship programs such as National Institutes of Health or Duke’s NCC Summer Research Experience

What I Did • I carried out an internship in UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy in Dr. Samuel Lai’s Laboratory. • I went pretty much every weekday from the end of June to August. • I learned about several different lab procedures • I was exposed to a typical lab environment • I was even involved in a research paper • Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience.
