Starting a Healthy Lifestyle is never too Early • This goes the same with the introduction of your child to a friendly dental environment, it means more than just to keep their teeth stay healthy with regularly scheduled checkups and cleanings, it also helps to set the stage for healthy dental habits that will more likely to continue until he or she grows old.

  3. In relation, this presentation offers some dental care tips for children, those up to 3-year of age in particular.

  4. Expose Your Child to a Healthy Diet • When it comes to your child's oral and dental health, your choice of food for your young ones will have a great effect on them. Moreover, the types of food you feed your children will shape their eating habits which will stay with them throughout their lifetime. • With this, make sure that they know how to value the benefits of drinking a lot of water; and when it comes to their juice intake, limit it to only four to six ounces each day. It's best for their health if their diet consists mainly of vegetable, fruits, dairy products and grain, as much as possible don't let them consume foods that are high in sugar.

  5. Start the Regular Dental Checkups at a Young Age • Encourage your kids to regularly visit the dental clinic for dental checkups and cleanings at an early age. • Dental experts recommend that a child should be checked by a dentist at least or within six months of their first tooth erupting or when they reach the age of 12 months, whichever comes first.

  6. Brushing Habits • For the young ones brushing habits, they should only use the approved toothpaste every after meal and beginning in the first year of age after the first tooth has come in. • To ensure that all teeth surface areas are cleaned thoroughly, infants and toddlers need the adult's supervision. In cases that brushing is not possible, they should at least rinse their teeth with water.

  7. Dental Emergencies • Keep in mind that dental emergencies can happen at any age and at anytime. With this, it's important that the caregivers and parents or guardians have the dental office number that can address emergency dental care in case any of the following occur: toothaches, bitten or cut tongue, broken jaw or tooth, etc. • Ask you dental clinic about these services in case of emergency situation. Lastly, remember that consistency is vital for your child to feel comfortable in their family dental office.
