Examples: but, and, or Find the conjunction in each sentence (whiteboards): 1. Martin likes every fruit but apples. 2. Tamara ate fruit and vegetables. Students, you already know how to find the conjunction in the sentence. In sentence #2, the conjunction and is used to show that Tamara ate more than just fruit. She ate fruit and vegetables.
