PINGAT JASA MALAYSIA • Expected 12 000 entitlements. • Eligibility from Independence on 31 August 1957 until 31 December 1966. - 90 days direct support in Malaysia. - 180 days indirect support outside Malaysia. • Singapore included until 9 August 1965.
PINGAT JASA MALAYSIA • First awards not expected to until early 2006. • 4900 applicants assessed eligible for the award as at October 2005 from 7300 so far received.
AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE MEDAL • Will recognise the significant commitment and contribution (six years or more). • Will include discharge due to some service and enlistment policies of the time. • Also extended to death or medical discharge due to compensable injury. • Commences from 3 September 1945 (end of World War II).
AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE MEDAL • Defence and ex-service community consulted. • How to apply will be widely publicised. • Approximately 450 000 assessed to be eligible. • Expecting around 1M applications.
