Co-investigators well chosen Multiple grants to one PI now difficult. R01s are not the answer, get on a team! Program project grants • Interdisciplinary projects! But be an expert in something • Keep reinventing yourself! Add new disciplines to your repertoire • NIH funds research on human health! Disease research; include clinicians. • Diversify! not just NIH; Look at RFAs; increase your lab funding by training awards; use the K99.
