Ruthless Claudius • How does Claudius use and manipulate Laertes own grief and anger? • What is the plan for Hamlet? • Laertes will challenge Hamlet to a fencing duel. • Laertes will be fighting with a sharp sword – able to wound. • The tip of the sword will contain poison. • If Hamlet avoids getting wounded or even grazed by the sword, Claudius will be ready with a poisoned cup.
